Responsibilities
Editors provide scholarly stewardship by overseeing peer review and upholding publication ethics. All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review, where they are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts. Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Those decisions are reached independently of fees, memberships, optional services, and editorial or reviewing roles. Editors recuse themselves from decisions on their own submissions, which are handled independently, and reviewing confers no advantage in the review of a reviewer’s own work.
The duties attaching to each role are set out in the editors guidelines and the reviewer guidelines, and the policies they apply on the editorial policies page.
Roster record
Board membership, roles and profile details are maintained in the journal’s editorial record. Changes to that record are made through the publisher’s editorial approval process rather than on this page.
