Biography
Dr. Esra Dogru Huzmeli is affiliated with Istanbul Gedik University, where her research encompasses rehabilitation, geriatric care, and health-related quality of life across diverse populations. With over 25 indexed publications, her work addresses stroke rehabilitation from multiple perspectives, the effects of physiotherapeutic and yoga-based interventions on patients with chronic conditions including cerebral palsy and chronic kidney disease, and attitudes toward aging and elderly discrimination. Her most-cited publication, "Öğrencilerin yaşlı ayrımcılığına ilişkin tutumları: bir üniversite örneği" (2020), examines university students' attitudes toward ageism. Dr. Huzmeli's contributions extend to innovative rehabilitation approaches, including virtual reality balance training and active video-accompanied exercises for obesity prevention in children.
