Questions

Submitting to JNRT: FAQ

Is it free to submit to JNRT?
Yes. There is no submission fee and no peer-review fee. An article processing charge applies only if your manuscript is accepted. Nothing is charged to submit or to be reviewed, and nothing at all if your manuscript is declined.
Should I use ManuscriptZone or the guided form?
ManuscriptZone is the recommended route. It gives you a guided neurology-specific workflow with auto-save, real-time status tracking from submission to decision, and direct access to reviewer and editor feedback. The guided submission form is a faster, no-account option for a straightforward manuscript. Both reach the same editorial team and the same independent peer review.
What do I need to submit?
Your manuscript prepared to the Instructions for Authors, a short cover letter, and the standard declarations: ethics approval and patient consent where applicable, conflicts of interest, funding, author contributions (CRediT) and a data-availability statement.
How long until I get a decision?
JNRT targets a first decision in about three weeks. An editor first screens scope, ethics and methodology; suitable manuscripts then go to independent peer review.
What peer-review model does JNRT use?
Single-blind (double-blind on request): reviewers see the authors’ identities while authors do not see the reviewers’. You may request double-blind review, in which case identifying details are withheld both ways.
How much is the APC and when is it charged?
The article processing charge is $2,100, the same across all article types. It applies only after acceptance, before publication, so a manuscript declined at any stage incurs no charge. Waivers and reductions are available by exception; ask the editorial office. See the APC page for full detail.
Can I track my submission?
Yes. When you submit through ManuscriptZone you can track your manuscript’s status in real time, from submission through review to decision. You will receive an acknowledgement within 72 hours either way.
Will my case report be considered?
Yes. Alongside original research and reviews, JNRT actively reviews well-documented neurology case reports and case series. A clear clinical message, adequate follow-up and appropriate patient consent are what we look for.
What happens after my article is accepted?
It is published open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence with a permanent Crossref DOI, free to read worldwide and discoverable in Google Scholar and OpenAlex. You retain copyright.
