Our streamlined peer review process ensures rigorous evaluation while maintaining efficient timelines for behavioral science research.
Submission
Submit your manuscript through any of our three submission channels. Include all required files: main manuscript, figures, tables, and supplementary materials.
Day 1Editorial Screening
Our editorial team reviews your submission for scope fit, completeness, and adherence to formatting guidelines. Manuscripts meeting criteria advance to peer review.
3-5 daysPeer Review Assignment
We identify and invite expert reviewers with relevant expertise in behavioral science methodology, psychological trauma, or your specific research area.
5-7 daysExpert Evaluation
Reviewers assess your manuscript for scientific rigor, methodological soundness, theoretical contribution, and clarity of presentation.
14-21 daysRevision & Resubmission
If revisions are requested, you submit your revised manuscript with a detailed response to reviewer comments. We encourage point-by-point responses explaining how you addressed each concern or why you chose an alternative approach.
Author timeline variesRe-review
Revised manuscripts are evaluated to ensure all reviewer concerns have been adequately addressed. For minor revisions, the editor may make the final decision; major revisions typically return to the original reviewers.
14 daysAcceptance & Production
Once accepted, your manuscript enters production for copyediting, typesetting, and final formatting. You'll review proofs before publication to ensure accuracy of your behavioral science research.
10 daysPublication
Your article is published online with immediate open access. It receives a DOI, is indexed in major databases (Google Scholar), and becomes freely available to the global behavioral science community.
Immediate online publicationTotal Timeline: From submission to publication, most manuscripts complete the process in approximately 60 days, assuming timely author revisions. This efficient timeline ensures your behavioral science research reaches the community quickly while maintaining rigorous peer review standards.

Submission Guidelines Summary
Manuscript Preparation
Prepare your behavioral science manuscript according to these specifications to ensure smooth processing through editorial screening and peer review:
- Format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX (.tex) with all text double-spaced
- Length: Varies by article type (see Article Types section above); includes abstract, main text, and references
- Structure: Title page, abstract (250 words), keywords (5-8 terms), introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusions, references
- References: APA 7th edition format; ensure all citations in text appear in reference list and vice versa
- Figures: High-resolution (minimum 300 DPI) in TIFF, EPS, or PNG format; submitted as separate files with descriptive captions
- Tables: Created in Word or Excel; each table on a separate page with title and footnotes
- Supplementary Materials: Data files, additional analyses, measurement instruments, or extended methodological details
Ethical Requirements
All behavioral science research involving human participants or animals must meet ethical standards:
- Human Subjects: IRB/Ethics committee approval required; include approval number and institution in methods section
- Informed Consent: Statement confirming informed consent was obtained from all participants
- Animal Research: Institutional animal care committee approval; adherence to ARRIVE guidelines
- Data Privacy: Ensure participant confidentiality; de-identify all data; describe data protection measures
- Competing Interests: Disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the research
Open Science Practices
We encourage transparency and reproducibility in behavioral science research:
- Data Sharing: Deposit data in recognized repositories (OSF, Figshare, Dryad); provide access information in manuscript
- Pre-registration: For confirmatory studies, pre-register your hypotheses and analysis plan (OSF, AsPredicted, ClinicalTrials.gov)
- Materials Sharing: Make measurement instruments, experimental materials, and analysis code available
- Reporting Standards: Follow discipline-specific reporting guidelines (CONSORT for trials, STROBE for observational studies, PRISMA for systematic reviews)
