Biography
Dr. Angela Eloy is a researcher at the Centro de Pesquisa Caprinos e Ovinos, Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária, Sobral, Brasil. She holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (1977), a Master's in Reproductive Physiology from the same institution (1984), and a PhD in Animal Physiology from the University of Leeds, England (1995). Her research focuses on animal reproduction, particularly andrology and proteomics in small ruminants, with emphasis on goats and sheep, including seminal plasma protein characterization, reproductive management, and stress endocrinology. Her notable work includes the application of proteomics to identify biomarkers in caprine arthritis encephalitis virus infection and the development of biotechnologies for sustainable goat breeding in northeastern Brazil, exemplified by her widely cited 2019 publication on proteomics in the acute phase of caprine arthritis encephalitis in seminal plasma.
