Biography

Francesca Pennino is affiliated with the University "Federico II", Italy, where her research encompasses health food safety, hygiene of the physical environment, epidemiology of chronic-degenerative diseases, preventive and community dentistry, and epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases. Her work includes serum-epidemiologic studies, surveillance and control of hospital and community infections, epidemiological analysis of risks posed by emerging environmental and food bacteria, and application of HACCP approaches to food safety and quality control. She has conducted studies on the microbiological quality of water and hospital environments, including guidelines for centralized sterilization departments and customer satisfaction in hospitals. Her most-cited publication, "Understanding Factors Contributing to Vaccine Hesitancy in a Large Metropolitan Area" (2023), reflects her contributions to public health and infectious disease prevention.
