Biography
Zheng Jiang is an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, United States. He earned his M.D. in Medicine from China Medical University, Shen-Yang, China (1998โ2004), and completed his Ph.D. in the College of Biomedical Science at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida (2004โ2009). His research focuses on retinal neuroscience, including the molecular mechanisms of retinal circuit assembly, neurotransmitter receptor signaling in retinal cells, photoreceptor and non-image-forming photoreception pathways, and synaptic organization in the outer and inner retina. His most-cited publication examines the contribution of pannexin channels to afterimage signals in the amphibian retina (2025), reflecting his ongoing contributions to understanding retinal physiology and synaptic modulation.
