Biography
Dr. Shafiq Ur Rahman (B-Pharm, Pharm-D, M.Phil, Ph.D.) is a postdoctoral researcher at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School in Nanshan, Shenzhen, China. His research focuses on the phytochemical investigation and bioactivity assessment of medicinal plants, with particular emphasis on natural product isolation, structural characterization, and pharmacological evaluation. He has made significant contributions to the study of Trillium govanianum rhizomes, including the discovery of novel steroidal saponins and bioactive compounds, as well as investigations into their antimicrobial, antioxidant, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. His most-cited work, "Beneficial Effects of Trillium govanianum Rhizomes in Pain and Inflammation" (2016), has received 39 citations and exemplifies his expertise in natural products pharmacology and pharmaceutical formulation development.
