Biography
Dr. Rosario Barone is a Researcher at the University of Palermo, Palermo, Italy, where he also completed his doctoral education. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying skeletal and cardiac muscle physiology, with particular emphasis on heat shock proteins (HSPs), small heat shock proteins (sHSPs) such as αB-crystallin and Hsp60, and their roles in exercise adaptation, oxidative stress responses, and fiber-type specificity. His work extends to investigating chaperoning systems in both physiological contexts and pathological conditions, including cancer and metabolic disorders. Dr. Barone's most-cited publication, "Function and Fiber-Type Specific Distribution of Hsp60 and αB-Crystallin in Skeletal Muscles: Role of Physical Exercise" (2021), exemplifies his contributions to understanding exercise-induced molecular adaptations in muscle tissue.
