Biography
Dr. Chung-Yi Chen is affiliated with the Department of Dentistry, Taiwan, and has focused his research over the past two decades on life-threatening diseases, particularly the application of traditional Chinese medicine in cancer research. His work specializes in the isolation, purification, and structural analysis of bioactive phytochemicals from plants, with emphasis on major active ingredients such as ginger, pepper, and cinnamon for their roles in gastrointestinal, oral, liver, and colorectal cancers, as well as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiparasitic applications. He is recognized internationally for his studies on plants of the genus Cinnamomum and has authored over 25 indexed publications, including his most-cited work on bioactive phytochemicals targeting the TLR4 signaling pathway (2018, 276 citations). Dr. Chen serves on the editorial boards of numerous international journals and has received multiple awards recognizing his contributions to phytochemical and cancer research.
