Biography
Liwei Xie is affiliated with Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology, China, where his research focuses on the molecular mechanisms linking iron homeostasis, hypoxia signaling, and disease pathogenesis. His work has elucidated critical roles of hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs) in regulating iron metabolism, erythropoiesis, and intestinal permeability, with particular emphasis on disorders of iron overload, anemia, and colorectal tumorigenesis. Notably, his most-cited publication on transferrin receptor 1 ablation in satellite cells and ferroptosis-mediated impairment of skeletal muscle regeneration (2021) has received 164 citations, underscoring the translational significance of his contributions. With over 32 indexed publications, his research spans iron uptake mechanisms, non-coding RNA regulation, and metabolic signaling pathways in hepatic and intestinal tissues.
